Caregiver
Care-on-Call is looking for a compassionate, dependable caregiver to join our San Jose team on a part-time basis. This role offers scheduling flexibility while allowing you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients in their own homes.
Position Overview
The Caregiver is responsible for assigned duties related to the care, well-being, and safety of clients. Caregivers provide compassionate in-home support that helps clients maintain their independence, dignity, comfort, and quality of life.
Reports to: Staffing Manager / Case Manager
Responsibilities
- Perform client safety checks.
- Assist with bathing.
- Assist with dressing.
- Assist with feeding.
- Support personal hygiene needs.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Respond appropriately during client emergencies, including calling 911 when necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping.
- Accompany clients to appointments.
- Run necessary errands.
- Complete laundry as needed.
- Assist clients with walking and appropriate exercise.
- Document the care provided.
- Support dietary needs and prepare meals when necessary.
- Help maintain the client’s health and safety at all times.
- Report health, safety, and sanitation concerns to a supervisor.
- Perform other duties as directed by a supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must obtain DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearances.
- Must hold a current first aid certification.
- Must provide a negative TB test dated within the previous six months. The test may be completed within seven days of hire.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds without assistance.
- Must be able to push 40 pounds without assistance.
- Must comply with Care-on-Call policies, procedures, and applicable state licensing guidelines.

This position serves Care-on-Call clients in San Jose, California. Work assignments take place in clients’ homes.
This is a part-time caregiver opportunity with scheduling flexibility. Specific schedules and client assignments are determined according to client needs, caregiver availability, and the hiring process.
